This week I learned that you really need to do a newborn shoot as soon as possible! My niece was 13 days old when I did her photos and she was already very awake and not very into any of my nice sleepy poses, lol
I do love this one though, even though everyone does this pose I've never tried it before and I think it turned out lovely :)
Next time someone wants me to do newborn photos I'll tell them to swing by on their way home from hospital ;D

She's so sweet. I've only done one newborn shoot and it was definitely not easy.
Visiting from "Click it up a notch". Even one month from now mom and dad are going to look at this photo and not believe how much their daughter has grown....let alone 20 years from now! Definitely a photo they will cherish.

You would think it's easy to make them look all balled up and cuddly too. But it's not!! haha
Yeah- I wish I would have known that myself with my youngest. Took her for her photos at 3 wks old - may have even been 6 weeks- she WOULD NOT sleep the whole time & every shot looks all strange because her expressions didn't match the theme.

Totally agree! Last one I did was 2 weeks old and awake the whole time, save a second here or there. Lovely shot on your part though!
Awww! She's so cute and little!! I do like this pose as well even if others do it!! Let me tell you, I think it depends on the baby. I did a friend's baby when he was like 8 days old and he was wide awake the whole time. This is why newborns aren't for me :O) I can't wait to see more of your photos of this little doll!!

This is so gorgeous though, the dad's hand looks huge compared to the baby. I really think it has to do with the baby though, my son was never sleepy.
I have not done a newborn shoot myself and I had heard you should do it in the first two weeks. It sounds like from your experience the sooner the better. Nice result though. :)
