Face Paint!

While we were out shopping for a new lounge on the weekend we decided to take the kids to McDonalds for lunch. Lucky for them they had a jumping castle and face painting set up!

Charlotte was a bunny rabbit and Willy was a puppy dog :D

 Look at those bunny teeth. She was most disappointed when they came off after about 10 minutes!

Woof woof! I'd like to point out that his pants are just pushed up and that he is not wearing "pantaloons" like my brother suggested when I posted the picture on facebook, lol.

I think they made a very cute bunny and puppy :)

The week before Charlotte got her pace painted at the shops too. She asked for Rapunzel, lol. It looked very pretty!

I clicked It Up A Notch - July

This was an easy choice this month, because I've barely had a chance to pick up the camera!

The weather has been miserable, so the kids have been a bit feral and making ten times as much mess, lol plus there's all the extra washing you get in winter!

I did get this shot of William that I love though, he was watching a video on YouTube of Thomas mashed up with Transformers and every time "megatrain" came on the screen he'd put his little hands over his mouth, gasp and say 'oh no!'

I love how engrossed he is hehe. I used my canon 50mm f/1.8 and processed it with My Four Hens 'Superb' B&W action :)

Now back to the mountain of washing!! William was up all night vomiting, poor little guy, so I have plenty of blankets to wash :/

You wouldn't know he's been sick though, he's tearing around the house like a crazy person, lol

Rain Rain Go Away...

We've had so much rain lately it's been hard to find an opportunity to take photos :S

 I did manage to snap a couple of the kids amusing themselves in the play room

 Willy is so silly :)

 Charlotte had fun drawing in the steam on the windows..

Animal Fun!

I think I'm one of the remaining few that are yet to cross over to the iphone side :/ As much as I would LOVE one, I just can't justify spending that kind of money on a phone, lol. I have a clunky old prepaid phone that I rarely remember to charge and always miss messages and calls on =D

SO, I was really excited when Katie Lloyd Photography shared her Vintage Polaroid Effect. It makes me feel like one of the cool kids with all their awesome photo apps ;D

While we were hitting up the Toy Sales (omg I LOVE the Toy Sales) the other day, they had all sorts of animals on display around the centre. I had my camera with me with my 50mm lens on but everything was happening so quickly the photos are kind of ordinary, lol. No time to check your settings when someone is suddenly draping a snake around your 4 year olds neck! So I used Katie's polaroid to make them a bit more exciting :D

Grandma's Garden

Every Tuesday the kids and I spend the day at Grandma's house :) 

 Right down the bottom of their garden is a cubby house and lots of jungle-y plants..
{This photo was my Mum's idea :D}

 This used to be mine and my brothers cubby house when we were little. I'd like to point out that it did not have proper sliding windows when we were little. Nor was it painted pretty colours inside. It didn't have a play kitchen or table and chairs either. LOL.

 I tried to get a photo of them together on this big rock but William thought it was great fun to slide down and Charlotte kept giving me 'the face' :D

 I managed to get this semi-smile from her :P

 Then the big cheesy grin while she was climbing trees..

I love her face in this one hehe :)

Scavenger Hunt Sunday!

I've missed the last few weeks of the Scavenger Hunt so I decided to make sure I participated this week! 

1. Things That Look Like a Letter of the Alphabet

I tried really hard to find something original but had to go with this for the letter 'T'

2. Weather

The weather has been really windy lately, perfect for kite flying :)

3. Bling

My hubby gave me this ring for my 16th birthday....I turn 30 at the end of the year, lol

4. Tangled

I originally planned to take a photo of Charlotte with her Tangled book (she LOVES the Tangled movie!) but ran out of time so I'm using these snake pictures from Friday :D Charlotte was brave enough to have the snake around her neck - William however must take after Mummy! I HATE SNAKES.

(The snake is kind of tangled up...right? lol)

5. Dark

I had to take this one from the archives, oops! But it goes well with a funny little William story from through the week:

We were out in the backyard just as it was getting dark and William pointed to the moon in the sky "Mummy Look! Dere is! Dat's da mooosh!"

hehehe

I tried to tell him it's the 'moon' but he kept saying "NO! Dat's da MOOOSH!"

William By Any Other Name..

 Do you have weird nicknames for your kids?

Name's you don't even know how they came about?

I do, lol

William goes by many names. Other than the usual 'Will' and 'Willy'

"The Willy Man"

This one is my fault :D It just came out one day and stuck. 

 "Mibby"

My fault again, no idea where it came from!

Variations: Nibby (from Charlotte) and Wibby (from Grandma)

and sometimes he's my mibba libba ding dong.

I'm weird.

"The Wibber Nibber"

Your guess is as good as mine haha! 

 Then there's "Willykins" "Wilbo" and "Willy Wonka"

And Daddy likes to call him "Bilby"

But he'll always be Mummy's Little Man :)

And a cheeky little man he is!

Charlotte gets off lightly.

There's Charli but she doesn't like that "My name's CHARLOTTE!"

So she mainly gets Chooki Pie :)

Or Princess, Sweet Pea and Baby Girl.

Winter Swimming Fun!

As you may or may not know, I'm an Aussie :D And here in Oz we are smack bang in the middle of Winter :( BUT that doesn't stop us having fun in the pool!

 Charlotte and William both do swimming lessons on Saturday mornings at our local aquatic centre which is thankfully all indoors (especially lucky for hubby who has to get in with William for his lesson while I sit and spectate hehe)

Their lessons are on at different times so while Charlotte is doing her lesson, William hangs out in the kiddies play pool..

He loves the slide!

 And just layin' around in the water..

 There is a water slide in there too so after Charlotte's lesson she gets to have a few turns..

 Sometimes they play nicely together :)

 William is going to be bigger than Charlotte very soon!
