First Day of Kindergarten!

On Tuesday 31st January 2012, my baby girl started Kindergarten. Kindergarten. Big School. Eeep!
She was very excited and had been wearing her school "costume" around the house for weeks in preparation :)

When the big day finally arrived, obviously I took eleventy five billion photos to remember this special day.
Her uniform hanging on her door in readiness and putting on her shoes :)
(All school's in Australia wear uniforms, which I think is great, saves heaps on clothes and the 'what to wear' dilemma!)
Sweet Shot Day

Then we went out into the lane behind our house for a quick shoot. I'd pre warned her that this would be happening and she groaned and moaned about it until I pulled out the mini chalk board =D

She came up with all these poses by herself!

Oh her teacher is in for a treat ;D

I got really lucky with the weather, I was worried about the harsh midday sun casting horrible shadows all over her but instead we got a nice overcast day. Actually the whole Summer has been overcast just about, boo :(
After my photos she insisted on writing her own sign. She struggled a bit with the fat chalk in such a little space but how cute does it look?! :)
Apparently she HAD to have some flowers in the photos..
This was all her doing, hehe, she's too funny with her little poses :D
Some funny outtakes, these just scream Charlotte! The top right hand corner one, that's the look she gives me when I ask her to do ANYTHING.

Then it was time to pack her bag, look at all that yummy food...the little piggy ate it all too!
Then it was out the front to wait for Daddy to pick us up and head to the school!
I love these, I don't know what it is but I love them :)

Some poses in front of the tree like we did on her first day of preschool (which happened to be on the exact same date last year!)

Live, Love, Travel

(All photos were edited with 'Candy Light Pop' from PTM's Fresh Wonderland set)

Heading into the school! You can see my Mum and my Grandparents in the distance....she asked my Mum to 'just drive down and you can watch me go in.' haha

With her Great Grandma (who we call Tiggle :D)

Terrible photo of my chins, lol. Hubby isn't a hobo, he had to sneak out of work..he's a panelbeater..they get messy :D
They had first day of school portraits done before they headed into class...but I got a note home today saying the camera had a problem and they lost them all =O They're being re taken tomorrow, which is good but I'm sad it won't be her actual first day. Luckily I have these photos!

She dived straight into the activities when we got into the class room. We hung around for a few minutes then left her in the hands of her new teacher, who I've heard is brilliant!

The best part was as I was snapping away with my big camera the teacher said "Oh you're like me! I'm photo crazy! I take lot's of photos in this class!" I could've cried with happiness hahaha!

A quick cuddle with Grandma :)

She had a great first day but has been a bit teary in the mornings when I drop her off since then. I think it's still a bit overwhelming with so many kids around and the noise and the big loud school bell. Her teacher says she stops crying the minute they get into class, so hopefully the tears will be gone all together soon :)

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. Michelle, these shots are gorgeous!! What lovely memories. Charlotte looks like quite a character (I mean that in the best possible way) and I am sure she will have a ball at school.

  8. So cute! I love uniforms! I always wanted to send my kids to a private school just so I didn’t have to deal with the “what to wear” issue. LOVE the “teacher’s pet” shot and the chalkboard. All of these were just so lovely!
