Charlotte's Tangled Rapunzel Party!

FINALLY getting Charlotte's party post up! It's only almost a month late, I thought I better get it up before the kids and I go away tomorrow (even though I haven't even finished posting our LAST holiday pictures :S)

So, on December 19th my baby girl turned FIVE! I can't believe she is of to big school in 3 weeks!
She's right into the movie Tangled at the moment so a Rapunzel themed party it was :) If you follow me on Pinterest, you may have noticed all the Rapunzel party pinning going on haha! You can see my inspiration board Frying Pans...Who Knew, Right? for some ideas.

Another Pinterest goodie that I'm sure you've all seen floating around is the 20 Birthday Questions. I decided to do it with Charlotte...as you can see, she's also pretty obsessed with Fireman Sam! And if you're wondering 'Amy Polar' is her stuffed Polar Bear we got at Sea World...I convinced her it would be funny to name it that hehe (hubby and I are huge fans of Parks and Recreation!)

I didn't go to too much trouble, but we did make the jelly cup boats!

Chalk bucket party favours! They were such a hit at William's Caillou Party that I made them again. (well, one parent complained about the chalk but I'd rather my kids bring home chalk than sugary crap!)

We had a game of 'Pin Pascal on Rapunzel's Hair' which was fun. Only some minor cheating went on haha!

While I was trying to run the game, this cheeky little monkey tried to squirt me with the hose ;)

Then it was time for Miss Fairy to start painting faces!

She made this special Rapunzel face for Charlotte, even glued on some huge gems! How awesome is that?! Charlotte absolutely loved it :)

Then it was William's turn...

"I be a puppy!!"

Miss Fairy hadn't done a puppy before so she had to make it up as she went along...pretty cool for being put on the spot!

I loved this clever Batman scene!

Some pretty rainbow faces..

The dinosaur made an appearance again..

My nephew insisted on being Santa haha!!

Very cool Lightening McQueen face painting!

Zombie girl!

Luckily I was only sending my little cousin home with a fake tattoo!!

A teeny dinosaur for my teeny nephew :)
Cake time!
This was actually pretty easy to make, the tower is just un-iced cupcakes stacked on top of each other, a waffle cone covered in purple frosting and purple sprinkles, and then I just piped green frosting all around it to look like vines. The flowers are silk ones I got from a craft store :) I stuck some bamboo skewers in the cupcakes to hold them together.
The tower cakes I'd seen on Pinterest were all stacked on to foam blocks cover in pretty paper or frosting, but I didn't see why I couldn't stack them on top of some cakes...so I did! The skewers held them in place :)
Then I just decorated with frosting, sprinkles and Smarties and printed out some characters I found on google.

The birthday girl LOVED IT.

After cake it was time for the Pinata..

Everyone loves scrambling on the ground for cheap plastic toys ;)

Then my bestie and I got our faces painted too. Because we're kind of awesome ;D
(her hubby took this picture)

Some party randomness to finish up :)

If you made it to the end, thank you!!

  1. That looks like an absolutely fabulous birthday party! Those face paintings are A-MA-ZING! Love the cake too! It looks like it took a long time to put together. And I love the 20 questions idea. I'll have to remember that when my kids have their birthdays.

Thank you for linking up with Wild & Wonderful Wednesday!
